The First Floor Bathroom

The Livingroom

The Armstrongs removed two walls and enclosed the front porch to create a colossal living room.

The Foyer

The "stair chair" was installed in April 1971, after Louis's stay in Beth Israel Hospital, to help Louis get to the second floor.

The Office

Louis's den is the most significant room in the House. When he was home--he typically traveled "on the road" for more than 300 days per year--this is where he spent much of his time. In this room he wrote letters to his fans all over the world, made his tape recordings, visited with friends and neighbors, listened to records, and wrote his memoirs.

The Bedroom

Louis wrote in his autobiographical manuscripts that he enjoyed owning a "wall-to-wall" bed (i.e., a king size bed)!
